What Are You Doing New Year's Eve? - The Morning Of

This will be a post without pictures because no one really thought to take pictures of anything before we were putting on the dresses and make-up.

I woke up the morning of our wedding with the faintest of butterflies in my stomach, but for the most part, I felt calm. Walking downstairs, there was a flurry of activity going on, but I still felt very at peace. My aunt D and my MOH G were hard at work on our "marriage board" (picture forthcoming). I had intended to take care of it myself that morning, but luckily some of my helpers took it upon themselves to get up early and surprise me. My only job was to pick out the "love poem" we were going to stick on it.

BM K and BM C were just leaving for their hair appointment as I sat down to have some breakfast. And, though I had every intention of actually eating something, I never quite got around to it. I got caught up in chatting with my family members, giving my dad and Uncle B specifications for the card box, bridal purse, and ring bearer pillow they were off to get from David's Bridal (Yes, there were still lots to be done the morning of the wedding. I'd apologize for being a bad bride, but meh - it kept things interesting). And you know what, I truly mean it when I say that our wedding day could not have happened without the love and support of both our families.

It seemed like I had only just begun to relax and think about eating when it was time for my mom and I to run over to the salon for our hair appointments.

Believe it or not, the salon where we chose to get our hair done is run by one guy. Yup. We had ONE GUY do the hair for all the bridesmaids, the mothers, and the bride. Things would probably have gone a lot easier if we had gone somewhere else, but he's been a friendor for years and we really couldn't think about going anywhere else.

When my mom and I arrived my sisters K and C were still in the midst of getting their hair done. Actually, C was finished and K was under a heat lamp as her hairstyle "hardened". Don't worry, it looked much more gorgeous than it sounds. I waited and chatted with my sisters as my mom decided she had time to run over to Whole Foods to grab a sandwich platter for lunch for everyone.

Before I knew it, I was getting my hair washed and wrapped up in some steam curlers. And little did I know that once I was in those curlers it would be 2 hours before I was out of them and the finishing touches done on my hairstyle. In fact, from those salon chairs I saw all of my bridesmaids and mothers come and go. First K and C, then my mom came back with MOH G. MOH G took came and went while I was under the dryer (where I couldn't hear ANYTHING). My mom took a lot less time, but at least I was out from under the dryer and could actually talk to people again.

Finally, it was my chance to be worked on and just as I was finishing up, guess who should walk in but my MIL and SIL! I got to chat with them briefly as my MIL took the time to do my "skin make-up" before getting ready photos would be taken. It ended up being a good idea since in my 'pre-made up' getting ready photos my skin is still glowing :).

After that, we headed back to the my house while MIL and BM/SIL Katerina got their hair done. All the men were back from their errands and enjoying sandwiches which I still felt too excited to partake in. By this time I had only 2 hours until I'd be getting married to the love of my life O.O!

There's a lot more "getting ready" goodness, but I think it was probably captured best by our professional photographers and I am currently still waiting for our proofs. So this may be the last recap for a few days. But don't despair! I shall return (and with pretty pictures <3)!
