What Are You Doing New Year's Eve? - Goin' to the Chapel

Just as I got a special photo with me and my dad, my mom and I made sure we got a special posed photo of just the two of us as well. And it's a good thing too. This turned out to be one of the only formal photos of the two of us we would end up with (though we do have a lot of candids of the two of us which are beautiful). So we snapped one last photo and then started herding everyone towards the front door.

If there was one thing I was determined to do, it was to be on time for my own wedding! But that didn't mean I didn't have time for a glamour pose or two in front of my house on the way to the car:

Before I go on, I have to stop and point out two things:

One, is the beautiful mink stole that I wore. It was my grandmother's (my mom's mom again). It may look like the perfect accent to my wedding day look, as if has been our intention since my wedding dress was bought to have this as the final product. But in fact, my mom only discovered the stole in the attic 2 days before the wedding. I guess we weren't even really thinking about what I'd be wearing otherwise. So lucky for us we found it! Otherwise I don't know what we would have done!

The second thing is: We had a December Wedding. So why am I not shivering, freezing to death with only that mink stole on my shoulders? Why is the grass so green behind me? Oh, because it was 57 degrees Farenheit. That's right. December 31st 2011 was 57 degrees in New Jersey. It was beyond belief to me. That morning when I went out to get my hair done I could feel it was warm, but when I walked outside and felt completely comfortable with only the stole around my shoulders... well I knew we'd had a little bit of a wedding miracle. I don't know whether to say we were lucky or blessed, but the truth of it is that we got married on the warmest New Year's Eve in decades.

My dad helping me up to the car. I loved my 4 1/2 inch heels, but I don't think I would have been able to walk up our steep driveway. I had not practiced enough.

You can see my uncle's car in the background. Our bridesmaids were already inside and waiting to be shuttled to the church were I would getting married in less than a half hour!

I love this picture. I think it looks like a shot from a magazine or a movie. My dad and I- moviestars :). Can't ask for anything more :).

It's a good thing he got a stretch limo, or else my poof and I would not have been able to fit comfortably. In fact, it's a miracle I fit into our getaway car, but that's a story for another post. My dad slipped in beside me, the chauffeur shut the door, and we were off to the church!
