What Are You Doing New Year's Eve? - The Calm Before the Storm

One of the most memorable moments of the wedding for me, was captured in this picture. I arrived early at the church, while guests were still arriving. Everyone started congratulating me and talking to me, so my dad and I decided to slip away upstairs on the balcony to keep the bride out of sight. We sat down on the bench and watched our guests filing in below us.

It was calm, peaceful. I felt oddly detached from what was going on me. The seats were filling up with people who came to see Mishka and me get married. They were there because they loved us and wanted to celebrate with us. In a way, this moment was the first time I had really had to reflect on what was happening since I woke up that morning. I remember being full of joy and awe that this moment had finally arrived and that we were love by so many.

But while I was reflecting quietly, there was a flurry of motion and greetings going on below us:

My beautiful grandmother waiting for her oldest grandchild to get married :).

Putting some finishing touches on MOH G's hair.

Our procession all lined up and ready to go!

My MOH helping our ring-bearer reattach his boutonniere.

My SIL and BIL getting lovey.

But before I knew it, our second shooter was at the stairs to tell me everyone was seated and it was time I come down for our processional to begin.

Next Up: The Processional
